Russian Lips refers to a lip filler technique that has become highly popular following its viral success on social media. This method involves vertical injections along the entire lip border to achieve an eversion of the lip mucosa.
Despite its online popularity, it’s important to emphasize that not all patients are suitable candidates for the Russian Lips technique. Anatomically, not every lip structure can support this type of eversion.
Moreover, it is essential to use very soft fillers with low volumizing capacity to avoid the dreaded duck effect. Using overly dense or volumizing fillers increases the risk of excessive lip protrusion, which can compromise the natural appearance of the lips.
The technique requires injecting only a few micro-drops of hyaluronic acid per point, ensuring an extremely even distribution to achieve a natural, non-artificial result.
